Hey all, I have a brand new Dell Inspiron 15 laptop computer, I'm trying to figure out how to disable the stupid touchpad thingy, but I can't find it anywhere in my control panel

Anyone know how to disable it?

So far the best page I found so far explaining it is:
http://labnol.blogspot.com/2007/05/disable-touch-pad-of-your-laptop-avoid.html
But the instructions what to do there aren't the same with my control panel that I have (maybe theirs is a bit older)

Please help, it's SOOOOOOOOO annoying!!!!!

Thank you

if you have this fn button and usually you can see the button with hand somewhere on the function keys "f7, f8 f9" to disable the touchpad. :D hope it helps.

Also, an awesome Camdough (http://camdough.com) rep told me to try this:

First, turn on (or restart) your computer. When the Dell logo comes up
press F2 to open the bios setup program.

Press Alt-p three times to get to page 4. Near the middle of the
screen you should see an option called Pointing Device. Change it from
Touch Pad - PS/2 Mouse to just PS/2 Mouse (this should work fine for
your USB mouse). Then press ESc to exit the bios, making sure to save
the changes.

Thanks growers and Cat, I'll get these 2 things tried to make sure it's disabled, gonna finish my work first then I'll give them a try :)

I searched google, found the way they said to do, (link in my 1st post), and that doesnt work
