Default Anyone notice less traffic from Google on or around March 9th? Here's why...

Google's March 7th Algorithm Update

With respect to search engines and SEO, your site’s traffic hangs in the balance of all those multinational search conglomerates, webbies.

You see, when it comes to Google—Google only updates their “broad core search algorithm” a few times a year, says the company.

And on March 7, 2018, it seems Google had more than just a few tweaks up their sleeve during one of their usual updates.

Were you affected by Google's March 7th mysterious update? Find out as we take a look and interpret the search titan’s latest update!

Are you talking about March 7th or March 9th updates? They were two totally different updates.
Why don't you share the experiences of your own network here? You probably have more traffic than the rest of us combined. Speak up and help the community. It will be to your benefit ...

My huge Google spike began March 14-15, was pretty massive, and many sites Google boost died off around March 23rd.

But for the sites that are still holding the rankings, still getting even bigger spikes, but I am sensing I'll lose it eventually.

Still way up here (though slight dip from about the mid-March super bump).

Not bad! We'll take 'slight dip' over 'major dip' any day of the week!

Congrats on the extra traffic from the spike. As for the ones holding the rankings, they probably deserve to be there.

J, if you had to assess the overall quality of the sites you're referring to vs other sites, are the ones outranking the others better developed? Curious!

Yes, we actually noticed more traffic to some of the 1,000 blogs we run:

Traffic seems to be leveling out and returning back to normal ranges - but we still spikes here and there

My Google traffic graph looks pretty much like that, Eric.

Big spike, slight dip, and now remaining constant at about 30% above what it was before the algo change. No complaints here.

Will post my graphs tomorrow

Eric, yes my sites that are usually updated regularly are the only sites that went up.

Most other sites, the dormant sites, no updated sites, or Mechbunny (no idea why no Google love), these sites never got the spike up.

And, as of now, most sites that got the Google spike, is still holding! I thought it'd be gone by now.

Ah ha ... so about the same. Yup, not bad at all.

Thanks J - that's what I thought.

Glad to hear it's not the opposite, otherwise I could see that being quite frustrating for a whole lot of people. Definitely keep us posted!

Looks like some of my sites have been hit by the same lack of filter implementations and the ride keeps on going :-)

However, sponsors have adjusted their skimming and shaving settings ... not much change in the petty cash register after all.

Same here, i notice rise in sales, but definitely doesnt match up with how much extra high quality traffic i am getting and sending them.

But wow, that graph almost identical to mine!

Btw, a rough stats check today leads me to believe I may have lost a solid % of this SE traffic, will be investigating more later

SE traffic has been up quite a bit this last month or so. Hopefully a trend that remains constant!
